I write for both an academic and lay audience.  Nancy is great for both, since she has worked in academia.  But most of all, Nancy is an outstanding writer and that helps me to reach a bit and make my articles and book chapters the best they can be. 

Since I have begun writing on a regular basis, I’ve had a few consultants who help me to shape my projects.  Nancy Wadsworth has been an invaluable writing consultant.  She is enthusiastic about my writing, as well as truly inspirational and insightful.  I wrote one personal essay that had been accepted to a journal.  Other readers called it “impressive.”  Nancy went further and suggested that I take a new look at the piece.  I followed her suggestions and received many more positive comments about the article.  The editors asked me to write more because they liked it so much.  It was Nancy who could see exactly what would make the article so much more effective. Plus, she helps me to enjoy writing.  And in so many ways, she offers ways of looking at various subjects that are creative, intellectual, and refreshing.   Nancy could help anyone who wants to improve their work, get published, and enjoy the process.

Last year, I was writing a column on the single life for a Denver newspaper and realized that although I love to write, I am a terrible editor!  Jennifer was able to take my work and make it flow, which helped me to turn in more polished work to the editorial staff at the paper.  She showed great expertise not only with line editing and proofreading, but was able to advise me on making more substantial revisions that improved my overall writing.  Her talent as an editor is apparent:  The suggestions and changes she encouraged me to make gave me great confidence in her as an editor.

nancy: Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault

Our agency turned to Nancy when we needed to write a training guide and website to accompany a major public awareness campaign that targeted college students. As a college professor, writer, and former non-profit employee, Nancy had the just the right skill set for the project. After initially discussing our goals and providing background information for her, Nancy was able to pick up the project and run with it. She reviewed a large body of literature on our issue and effectively converted our messages into two different formats for two different audiences. Her writing was comprehensive and professional yet accessible for our audiences - and the campaign was a big success. We couldn't have been happier with the results.

I am a PhD student in the Petroleum Engineering department at the Colorado School of Mines.  For the past few months, Jen has proofread and edited my dissertation.  In particular, she helped me by correcting grammar errors and clarifying my writing.  During our sessions, I would bring copies of several chapters of my dissertation and she and I went through those while I read them aloud.  That helped me a lot to understand the flow of the language.  I don’t consider myself a good writer, especially in English since it's my second language.  However, her help and support have boosted my confidence in writing.  If you have reports, projects, or dissertation that need proofreading, she can be a great help.
